Meet Keicha Halsell, a hard-working barista at Starbucks in Florida who is sharing her five biggest “icks” from customers when working her shift. In a viral TikTok video, Keicha reveals the biggest things that tick her off when customers are placing their orders at her Starbucks location.
“I’m pretty sure I can get in trouble for this video, but I’m gonna do it anyways,” says Keicha as she stands behind the counter, squeezing a bag of caramel sauce. She starts by revealing her number one “ick,” which is when customers wait in line without knowing what they want to order.

Keicha is frustrated when these customers eventually come up to the register to place their order and wait “another whole five minutes to tell us what they want.” It slows down the process for everyone in line.
Another thing that really gets Keicha’s goat is when customers order milk alternatives like oat and soy, only to ask for “sweet cream foam” on top of their beverage. She doesn’t understand why someone would pay extra to get a milk-free drink, only to have milk byproduct placed on top of it. According to Keicha, if people want to avoid drinking milk in their Starbucks drinks, they should not be adding “heavy milk” to the top of it.

The third “ick” on Keicha’s list is when Starbucks customers order something they’ve never had before and end up not liking it. This happens all too frequently, and Keicha is forced to make their drink “five times.” This is frustrating for Keicha because she feels that it’s not her fault that the customer didn’t like the drink.
“How is that on me? [It] gets on my nerves,” she says.
The fourth “ick” on Keicha’s list is when customers come in and “shove their phone” in her face demanding fancy drinks they saw on TikTok. This makes more work for her because the drinks they want are not even on the Starbucks menu. Keicha has to sit there for two minutes watching a barista on TikTok make the drink, two minutes to write it down, and five minutes to make it.
“They don’t know the recipe, so I have to sit there for two minutes and watch a barista on TikTok do a drink that took two minutes to make and then takes two minutes to write it down and five minutes to make it,” Keicha says.
Finally, Keicha’s fifth “ick” is when someone orders a latte at the register, she makes it, and then someone says “I forgot to say iced.” According to Keicha, the customer should have told her earlier when they heard her and saw her steaming milk for the latte.
It’s not easy being a barista, and Keicha’s video sheds light on some of the challenges that come with the job. Despite the frustration she experiences, Keicha remains professional and continues to serve her customers with a smile.
