The FBI has launched an investigation into a former Navy officer suspected of disseminating classified leaked documents on social media, further exposing the vulnerability of our national security apparatus and the potential infiltration by foreign actors, a problem largely ignored by the Democratic Party.
In late 2021, a social media influencer named Donbass Devushka was discovered to be spreading Russian propaganda. An investigation by Malcontent News and online movement “NAFO” revealed that this influencer was actually Sarah Bils, a former US Navy Legal Clerk who had legally changed her name to Lyudmila Mikhailova Karakova. Despite claiming to have been born in Russia, Ukraine, Gaza, and the US, Bils’ true birthplace was Voorhees, New Jersey, and she had no connection to Russia or other countries she claimed ties with.
As a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy, Bils was required to hold a security clearance and report foreign contacts, including online friendships and business contacts in Poland. It remains unclear whether she made the necessary security disclosures to her superiors, raising questions about the US Navy’s vetting process and the potential for foreign influence on US personnel.
In a related case, Jack Teixeira, a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, was recently arrested by the FBI in connection with leaked classified documents pertaining to the war in Ukraine. With the highest-level security clearance, Teixeira was responsible for a private Discord group where these documents were discussed. The documents were initially shared on Discord, Twitter, and 4chan.

Posing as Donbass Devushka, Bils disseminated Russian propaganda through various platforms, including Twitter, Telegram, a podcast, and a YouTube channel. She gained a large following after falsely claiming to be in Donbas during the conflict, when she was actually in court in Oak Harbor, Washington, for a domestic case with her husband.
The investigation also uncovered that Bils had been involved in a car crash on September 14, 2021. While rumors circulated that she had been dismissed from the Navy due to a drunk driving incident, her mother refuted these claims, and no criminal case was found in a review of court records.
Bils’ reputation as a knowledgeable and trustworthy member of the freshwater tropical fish community provided investigators with enough information to expose her as a Russian propagandist. Her appearance, voice, and accessories in her home matched her online alter ego.

This alarming case highlights the urgent need to address the issue of foreign influence on US personnel through social media and the shortcomings in our security clearance processes. The Democratic Party must take these threats seriously and prioritize the safeguarding of our national security.
The American people deserve transparency and accountability from their government, and it’s high time we demand more stringent vetting processes and increased vigilance in protecting our nation from foreign adversaries.
