A Young Boy Dented His Neighbor’s Car, When The Mom Got An Invoice She Nearly Fainted… joe August 20, 2022 Uncategorized Sometimes, mistakes happen even if you try so darn hard to be careful. But the worst is that mistakes resulted in car damage that will cost you thousands of repairs. This is exactly what happened to our featured story for today, but with a sweet and heartwarming twist. A 3-year-old has been slapped with a bill by a neighbor for causing damage to his car! But it’s not quite what it seems… The mother of a 3-year-old in the U.K. whose toddler hit a neighbor’s car while opening the car door, rightly decided that honesty was the best policy. She left a note for the neighbors telling them about the accident and offered to pay for damages. When the parents reminded the neighbors about the incident a couple of days later and asked about the bill, they received a letter in the mail. It was an invoice for the repairs, but it was the sweetest invoice EVER. First, the neighbors listed out the costs of repair. “Invoice for car damage: Damage repair and re-spray £1,500 . . . Damage repair and re-spray V.A.T £300 . . . Numerous cups of tea while pondering repair £28 . . . Numerous packets of biscuits while pondering repair £10 . . . ” But then, the letter continued: “These things happen . . . Minus -£1,838 . . . No Charge!” Oh, our hearts! But there was one stipulation. “The only thing we ask is you to keep taking our parcels in when we are not here, thanks!”Somehow, we think that’s pretty fair. The incident occurred in the United Kingdom, so the neighbor provided an invoice to the parents in British pounds. ‘AWM’ added: Clearly, these parents are living next door to some Good Samaritans. They were willing to look the other way when the toddler dented the car door. That’s a sign that these are some good people to be living next to. The little boy’s parents shared a photo of the invoice to social media along with the following message: “My silly three-year-old accidentally hit a neighbor’s car last week when opening his door. We admitted it at the time and told the owner we’d pay for the repair (cheaper than going through insurance). I chased him up today and got this invoice… Wow, such wonderful people.” The Facebook post went viral as more people began to realize how kind these neighbors truly were. Because they were willing to look the other way when the toddler damaged their car, they inspired people across the globe with their good hearts and kindness. I’m sure this mother thought she would have to teach her child a valuable lesson: Be honest and face the consequences of your actions, no matter how unpleasant. Thanks to these neighbors, this toddler was taught an even more valuable lesson that very few of us get to experience: Sometimes, people surprise you. Sometimes, people are just good. And more often than not, honesty is rewarded.
