Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended remaining local COVID-19 restrictions within his state by executive order on Monday as part of a series of moves he said were meant to prevent government overreach in response to the pandemic.

By putting his citizens first and puts politics on the backburner blazing a path to success for his state. Indeed, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has to be the best governor in America. This is why so many from blue states are moving to Florida. Governor DeSantis is letting Floridians decide for themselves what precautions they want to take against Covid.

Meanwhile, The Orlando Sentinal took a negative position by saying local cities in Florida would have their hands tied when it comes to pandemics because of the move by Gov. DeSantis:

“Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he was immediately suspending all local COVID-19 emergency orders by executive order on Monday while signing a law that restricts what both governors and mayors can do during pandemics.”

We love the freedom in Florida!

Governor DeSantis held a press conference in St. Petersburg, Florida today to make the announcement about the suspension of Covid restrictions:

“What I’m going to do is sign the bill, it’s effective July 1,” DeSantis said at the bill signing Monday in St. Petersburg. “I will also sign an executive order pursuant to that bill invalidating all remaining local emergency COVID orders effective on July 1. But then to bridge the gap between then and now, I am going to suspend, under my executive power, the local emergency orders as it relates to COVID. I think that’s the evidence-based thing to do.”

DeSantis said his administration wants people to “enjoy themselves” and “live freely in the state of Florida.”
