She Saw The Cost Of Her Daughter’s Birthday Meal, And She Absolutely Lost It…

A birthday is a time to celebrate birth itself. It is an expression of thanks to God for being born and still being alive. We celebrate birthdays to remember, acknowledge, and appreciate the life of a person who has been born, and of course what’s a birthday without a party?

Birthday parties are special occasions that celebrate life. These days are especially important for young children and teenagers who are looking forward to having the time of their life with all their friends by their side that’s why a mother from Pennsylvania decided to throw a party for her daughter’s sixth birthday at Applebee’s but as the night was coming to an end, the waitress approached and announced something that left Jolie Welling in complete awe.

Sofia was excited for her birthday to come because she knew there would be a big celebration with lots of happy people dancing to their favorite music, upscale food, and cupcakes. Sounds pretty much like the ideal day for a child. But unlike most other children’s celebrations, this sweet festivity had a different ending than that of most other kids’.

“We had drinks, appetizers, full-course meals,” Jolie recalled of the celebratory event. “We brought our own dessert — we had cupcakes — but that’s pretty expensive right there,” said the mother, referring to the bill. But the night was rounded off by the sudden announcement that surprised the family.

“(The waitress) came over and announced to the table that an anonymous person paid our whole tab, and we were like, ‘What? Who?’ She was like, ‘I can’t tell you, they want to be anonymous,’ and I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, The next thing, when we finally realized it, we started tearing up, ” Jolie said.

Never in their wildest dreams did they think a complete stranger would give them such a generous present. It’s a day this family will never forget.

“I was almost in tears,” Jollie said, “Life is so complicated as it is, and you just work and work and work and struggle, and you try to enjoy every moment you can, and having my 6-year-old see that someone did this act of kindness really shows her that there are good people in this world.”

According to CBS Local, this isn’t this kind of stranger’s first time being such a blessing to unsuspecting strangers. In fact, the husband and wife behind the act of kindness often sit at the bar in the Washington, Pennsylvania Applebee’s, looking for someone to bless. Three or four times a week, they eat at a restaurant. A few times a month, they randomly pick up the tab for some diners, who get to benefit from their generosity.

It touches me, too,” The waitress who served the Welling party Samantha Powell said. “They were just so surprised. They were like, ‘Oh my god. Who? Who?’ and they were looking around and wanted to know who it was, but I would not tell them, he approached me to tell me to give him the check for that table.”

Six months earlier, when the music director of the Church of the Covenant in Washington was honoring one of the choir members’ birthdays, the same thing happened to Darla Pepper-Miller and her group. They were also informed that the bill had been paid when the time came to do so.

Pepper-Miller recalled feeling when she found out someone had picked up her tab, “Just gratitude because of everything going on in the world and so much turmoil and protests and hatred, It’s good to know that there are people that care about each other and give, pay it forward.”

Powell claimed that the husband of the couple once explained to her why he does what he does: He always says, “I grew up poor and now I’m not,” and that is all he says,” and that says plenty. Applebee’s Assistant Manager Bernie Lewis claims she has been sworn to secrecy and won’t reveal their identities.

The unidentified good Samaritans have been dining and covering other people’s meal tabs for years, according to Applebee’s, the New York Post said.
