Kenny Chesney is on his world tour, and the 54-year-old country singer is more popular than ever.
In fact, according to The StarTribune the Top 20 Global Concert Tours for the week of August 1, ranked Chesney as the No. 4 artist in the world for weekly box office gross by city. The country singer earned $3,017,314 per city, per the report.
However, the aftermath of this fame is devastating, although they put safety as their top priority there will always be unexpected casualties.
During his concert at Denver’s Empower Field on Saturday. The woman, who has yet to be publicly identified, apparently died after falling from an escalator. She was sitting on a railing of the escalator when she fell to the concourse below. She died as a result of her injuries.
And now, Kenny Chesney finally broke his silence and has spoken out to speak out about the tragic death of a supporter at one of his concerts
“An adult female guest at Empower Field at Mile High was sitting on an escalator railing, fell to the concourse below, and died as a result of the injuries,” the Denver Police Department wrote in a statement on Twitter Sunday. “This is being investigated as an accidental death.”
“I was devastated to learn of the loss of someone after our show,” Chesney toldThe Denver Post on July 31. “There had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Denver last night—and to hear this is heartbreaking. Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together and that love we share makes us so much more.”
He added, “For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words. For her friends and family’s loss, I grieve with them and for them.”
Fox 31 Denver added that the Denver coroner’s office would determine the official cause of death, and release the identity of the woman when its examination was complete.
The Denver Post reported that the woman was sitting on the escalator around 11 p.m. Saturday night after Chesney’s concert when she fell to the concourse below and died. The fan’s death is currently being investigated as an accident by the Denver police. Police spokesperson Nate Magee told the outlet that he believes the woman wasn’t pushed before she fell.
Nate Magee, Denver’s Police spokesman told the paper he did not know if alcohol was a factor in the fall, but the woman was not pushed or shoved before she fell.
“To my understanding there was none of that, it was just an accidental fall, I don’t think anyone pushed her or anything like that,” Magee told the Post, citing eyewitnesses. Magee said he did not know how far she fell, or whether she was taken to a hospital or pronounced dead at the stadium.

In a statement Sunday, the “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” and “The Boys of Fall” singer spoke out on the accident, expressing his condolences to the woman’s loved ones.

Empower Field also issued a statement expressing condolences. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the woman involved in the tragic incident that occurred at the end of Saturday’s concert at Empower Field at Mile High,” the stadium shared via Twitter Sunday. “There is nothing more important than the safety of our guests, and Stadium Management Company is in communication with the Denver Police Department as it investigates this unfortunate situation.”
Chesney’s Denver concert was part of his cross-country “Here And Now 2022 Stadium Tour.” Chesney, 54, has eight more stops on the tour, closing with two performances at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
Empower Field at Mile High is the home stadium of the Denver Broncos.
