The “Dramatic” exit of Whoopi Goldberg backfired miserably. Complaining that “certain attitudes aren’t being blocked,” Goldberg also cites Elon Musk’s “messy” takeover.
The host of the ABC talk show “The View” made a significant revelation about why she had to exit the platform saying that it was important to share about it when Goldberg announced that she was officially leaving Twitter after Elon Musk took control of the platform.
“I’m getting off today because I just feel like, you know, it’s so messy, and I’m tired of now having had certain kinds of attitudes blocked, and now they’re back on,” Goldberg said during a segment on The view, claiming that because of how “messy” the platform has become under Musk’s control, Goldberg decided to delete her Twitter account.
“[S]ince Elon Musk took over Twitter… the place is a mess,” she said. The suspension of comedian Kathy Griffin upset Goldberg, she said, “He’s putting his $8 charge for blue check verification on hold. First, it was going to be $20, [but] now it’s going to be $8. So. He also suspended Kathy Griffin for impersonating him on a parody account.”
Griffin, however, impersonated Musk using her own account, which had blue check verification, and did not impersonate Musk from a clearly labeled parody account.
“I’m gonna get out, and if it settles down enough and I feel more comfortable, maybe I’ll come back,” Goldberg declared, continued to explain her decision.
Adding that Twitter or the government must control the information posted on the social media platform. Goldberg then endorsed the notion that “some speech” is not “OK free speech,” as the veteran actress wasn’t finished ranting.
She said, “All speech is not free speech. Some speech is not OK free speech.”
“You know what? This is our problem, but it ain’t my problem today, because I’m out! ” Goldberg concluded, reiterating her decision to leave the platform.
However, Goldberg’s “sanctimonious” exit didn’t go well, as the Blaze reported. The publication said that: The reaction to her choice makes one think of the proverb, “Does a tree make a sound if it falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it?”
While others applauded Goldberg’s decision, several people stated that she won’t be missed, because they didn’t even know she had an account.
Former U.S. ambassador Richard Grenell said, “Thank you, @WhoopiGoldberg.”
Journalist Tim Pool mocked Goldberg saying, “[P]eople were only on twitter to follow the gentle musings of whoopi its all over now.”
Comedian Terrance Williams reacted, claiming, “Whoopi Goldberg announced she has left Twitter because of Elon Musk. I just want to thank Elon for doing such a good job at running off these crazy entitled liberals.”
One person reacted, “Whoopi Goldberg was on Twitter?”
“I have never seen a Tweet by Whoopi Goldberg. I honestly didn’t know she had an account here,” another person said.
However, one person pointed out, saying, “Didn’t she also say that she was going to be moving to Canada if Trump was elected president? I’m still waiting for that one.”
“Whoopi gone from Twitter? oh nooo.. what will I do… How will we survive without.. wait. oh look, more people than ever are joining Twitter.. pass the popcorn.. which sanctimonious useless Hollywood ‘star’ will be next to exit stage ‘left’? don’t let the door hit ya….” Another social media user said.
In fact, Goldberg kept her word, with more than 1.6 million followers, her account has since been deactivated. But according to The Breitbart: “Goldberg is not the only left-wing celebrity having a public meltdown and leaving Twitter over Musk’s takeover of the company.
On Saturday, Model Gigi Hadid announced her exit from Twitter, saying it has become a “cesspool of hate & bigotry.”
Debra Messing, Mark Ruffalo, Tea Leoni, Shonda Rhimes, and Alex Winter are also among the left-wing elitists who have pledged to leave Twitter in the wake of Musk’s acquisition of the platform.
