This 58 Year Old Mom May Be About To Become The Oldest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit….

At an age where most are conceding defeat in their battle against father time, one woman isn’t using time in quarantine to nap and clip coupons and is rather imploring the local government to open more businesses, including gyms and tanning salons.

Jodi Harrison-Bauer is trying to fulfill a lifelong dream hopes to become the oldest model to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

The 58-year-old Connecticut mother of two adult daughters hopes to become the oldest model to don a swimsuit in Sports Illustrated’s iconic swimsuit issue. Jodi said modeling in the magazine will her “share who I am.”

“Whether I’m chosen or not, I’m doing this as another way to share who I am and encourage others along the way that it’s not too late to try something new,” she told the reports in an interview.

“I’m 58, and I’ve never felt so confident in myself,” she added.

Jodi, who runs a fitness studio in Branford, said she is attending an open casting call in Miami even though many of the women auditioning will be much younger than her.

“I saw there were no specific age categories,” she admitted. “That was my loophole to go for it.”

Jodi realized that Sports Illustrated had not listed any specific age requirements in their open casting call. That’s when she got the idea to challenge the industry norm and put herself out there to see if she might get chosen.

Jodi is no stranger to posing almost naked. She’s a two-time World Fitness America and World Fitness Universe champion and exercises multiple times a week by mixing up cardio and strength training.

She hopes her experience and story will help women “break out of the box society loves to put us in.”

“Sports Illustrated” made headlines this year by featuring Tyra Banks on the cover. She was the first African American to grace the cover in 1996. She posed this year at age 45 and became the magazine’s oldest cover star.

“I don’t know how this next chapter will read but competing for inclusion in this swimsuit issue is another way of showing that age limits are something we impose on ourselves,” Jodi said.

She wouldn’t be the oldest woman to appear in SI Swim. Legendary supermodel Christie Brinkley returned to grace its pages at age 63 in 2017 alongside daughters Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley Cook.
