A picture of a pregnant belly is a very common sight on social media.
This mom, however, didn’t expect to end up in jail after she posted her belly online. 26-year-old Natosha Kirkland from North Carolina is behind bars after posting a picture of her baby bump on her own Facebook profile.
At first glance, everything seems to look absolutely normal, but upon closer inspection, the table behind her is littered with drug paraphernalia and the mom-to-be even has a band tied around her arm.
As the picture began to appear in friends and family members’ Facebook feeds, it attracted comments like “Sexy” and “Love it. I wish you the best.” But then people started noticing the sinister object lurking in the background (for a better look of what cops saw that had her arrested, check out the video at the end of the article).
Facebook users began to point out the drug paraphernalia in the background. That’s when it became obvious why the 26-year-old expectant mother had a tie-off on the crook of her arm.
Sourced indicated that Natasha Kirkland (not Natosha as her Facebook profile stated) was arrested on February 19. She was charged with felony credit card fraud, driving with a revoked license, and felony obtaining property under false pretenses.
The public was shocked that it doesn’t seem like she was facing any child endangerment charges.
After she was arrested, Natosha logged onto Facebook and claimed her page was hacked. She shared this update about a month after she was taken in by police.
“My Facebook was hacked I have not been able to get on here since the ninth of Feb … the pic was taken a year ago and have was not pregnant I just got my kids taken at the time pic was taking I lost my mind and yes I did my drugs … I have been clean and I intend to stay that way … so for everyone to know I am 20 weeks and five days pregnant today I do not do drugs and that pic has ruin my life but I’m not letting it drag me down or hold me back from doing right and living a clean and sober life for me and my baby girl and of course my other three babies I have … so please for the sake of ur self and my self stop talking about me …..”

The photo was proof that Natasha Kirkland was a danger to her unborn child, regardless of whether the pregnancy was a previous or current one. And, sadly, she didn’t seem to straighten up her act. Although the photo first went viral in 2015, it has made its rounds time and again, causing many to wonder what Natasha has been up to. Starcasm decided to find out and discovered that she’s since had so many run-ins with the law, it’s hard to piece them all together.
It appears Natasha was arrested at least 10 times in the three years following the baby bump photo incident on a list of charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering, driving with a revoked license, probation violation, and numerous instances of failure to appear. According to North Carolina court records at the time of Starcasm’s update, she had pending court dates for a felony charge of breaking and entering, felony larceny, and driving with a revoked license. Clearly, she didn’t learn her lesson, and sadly, her children are likely paying the price for her years of continued debauchery.
