**EPIC FLASHBACK!!**

Speaking at Federalist Society dinner to honor the late Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia Thomas ripped the decision to legalize same-sex marriage saying,

“Today it is the view of many that the Supreme Court is the giver of liberties — what an odd conception of governance that We the People are dependent on the third branch of government to grant us our freedom.”

“With such unchecked judicial power, the court day-by-day, case-by-case, is busy designing the Constitution — as Justice Scalia once quipped — instead of interpreting it,”

Thomas implored judges to make the government conform to the constitution as the founders intended saying,

“Whether we in this room tonight ultimately win or lose the effort to reclaim the forms of government that the Framers intended, it is our duty to stand firm in the defense of the Constitutional principles and structure that secure our liberty.

Like Justice Scalia, we must do what the Constitution obliges us to do. It is now for us, the living, to be dedicated to the unfinished business for which Justice Scalia gave his last full measure of devotion.”

The leadership of the Federalist Society agreed whole heartedly. Leonard Leo, the society’s executive vice president remarked,

“Any time there’s a major shift in the power of government, it’s an enormous opportunity for what is probably the collection of the smartest, most talented and most publicly minded lawyers in the country to roll up their sleeves and help advance the cause of constitutional government,”

AMEN TO THAT!

It is about time we had some balance in the Supreme court, there are too many liberal judges on it, come on guys, how can same sex marriage be something our founders wanted, we are again letting liberal politics influence decisions not based on law, when was it ever legal for 2 men or 2 women to get married, we are not enforcing the laws we are molding them to appease the more liberal people of today, whats next allowing marriage to animals?

The Constitution is here for our protection to keep our government from having too much Power and I, for one, am all for what our forefathers left to protect us from such tyrants who want to change our Constitution instead of protect it and our Country. We need more judges like Scalia and Thomas. We don’t need our Constitution changed. It is fine the way it was before the Obama administration and his judges decided to change it to suit their needs instead of interpreting it the way it was meant to be understood.

    Supreme Court

    http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/2014/07/07/judicial-supremacy-how-did-this-far-fetched-claim-originate/

    Excerpt:
In the years since the Marbury decision, the Supreme Court has relied on the words of Marshall to claim for itself unquestionable, absolute constitutional authority. But as Fisher points out, we should always suspect any institutions’ own claim on power. In fact, the Supreme Court was never given constitutional supremacy.

    Excerpt:
The framers never intended to vest in the Court final authority over the meaning of the Constitution, nor has the Court ever succeeded in exercising that authority. A majority of five Justices lacks both the legitimacy and the competence to claim an exclusive voice. Justice Byron White put the matter crisply in 1970 when he said that “this Court is not alone in being obliged to construe the Constitution in the course of its work; nor does it even approach having a monopoly on the wisdom and insight appropriate to the task.”

I think the 10th amendment is specific also on the limits of the federal govt. all three branches.   Two key words: ad infinitum

The Constitution delegated few, enumerated powers to the Federal Government, reserving all remaining powers to the States and the people. Thus, powers of the Federal were the exception.

The federal government has no authority to mandate policies relating to state education, natural resources, transportation, private business, housing, health care, ad infinitum.

I think the commerce clause is overused in excess as a power issue and control method.

Our country is under attack from extremist liberals. They are being supported by the rich and powerful who want a global government. We are, and always have been, an independent nation. Millions have fought and died to protect our freedom, rights and way of life and no extremist or rich and powerful elite should be allowed to change that. What they are attempting through subversion, lies and deceit is high treason! The silent majority must demand this extremism which has infiltrated our schools, colleges, government, corporations and society be outlawed. They have shown that they are a cancer to all free democratic governments. The division they create is purposeful and is meant to create hatred and control. The open borders are meant to fill the democrats voter base and stop republicans from ever winning elections. We must unite and demand a stop to all of this bullying and attempts to takeover our country and others!

The Supreme Court was designed and set up to interpret the law not write the law. They were created so the common people would be protected from the government and to explain to everyone the interpretation of the law. What’s the Supreme Court interpreted the law then there is no more interpretations of the law provided that all Supreme Court Justices agree. But to change the Constitution of the United States of America this cannot be done by the Supreme Court.

    Reply
  28. James Reidy

I have been forced to accept over the near 70 years of my life, many decisions handed down from activist judges that deffied all attempts at logic and reason. Before I am asked, the only legal training i have is common sense. When even that minimal level of intelligence is breached by judges who are impressed with themselves rather than the written law, then the appointment of a succeeding judges judgement is of critical national importance! YES! Trump’s choice (s) is critical.

With the devastating loss of one of the greatest Supreme Court justices in the history of this country, Justice Scalia, (and the retirement of Ginsburg), Trump has the duty and the incredible privilege to Reestablish an originalist (Constitutional) Supreme Court. There is No place on the bench for Activist judges and they should be impeached. If their opinions are not in line with our Constitution, they should not be a Supreme Court justice. Any Change in our Constitution is to be brought about be WE The People in a Constitutional Convention. Their job is Not to rewrite our Constitution, but to interpret what our Founders gave us with strict adherence to their intent.

The Judges in the USA have only one job; they are to rule on the laws of the land – The Constitution – as it is currently written. They have no right or authority, to change any laws. That is the job of our legislative branch of the government; therefore, if they attempt to rewrite a law, they should be prosecuted for breaking the law(s)!!
