Special counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe has revealed major bombshells from liberal mobs. And its recent finds show how deep the corruption in the Clinton campaign and the bogus FBI investigation into President Trump’s Russia ties went.
The new filing fleshed out the case against Michael Sussmann, a lawyer for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign who was charged with lying to a top FBI official during a meeting about then-candidate Donald Trump’s connections to Russia.
One headline said Durham had alleged that the campaign of Hillary Clinton paid to “infiltrate” servers at Trump Tower and the White House — though that verb is not used in the filing — and Trump suggested that Democrats had been caught “illegally spying” in a scandal worse than Watergate.
This triggered a tsunami of coverage from pro-Trump outlets, and outrage from Republican lawmakers and Trump himself — all of it rife with distortions, false claims, and misinformation.
Neither claim is exactly what Durham alleged in a weekend filing that was ostensibly about a potential legal conflict of interest in the case. The filing detoured the realm of internet traffic research and generated significant attention among followers of Durham’s probe.
Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker, who analogized the findings of the Durham probe to Watergate said there would likely be a lot more criminal charges coming, in an interview by Fox News.
Swecker said, “I liken it (the Durham probe) to Watergate in that Sussman got his hands on information he wasn’t entitled to, but rather than burglarize the information or break in to get the information, the night watchmen let him in.”
