Over four decades have passed since the world mourned the loss of the iconic Elvis Presley, leaving his fans in profound despair. Yet, his music continues to resonate, particularly through his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Before her own untimely passing, she recorded a heartwarming duet with her father titled “Where No One Stands Alone,” which serves as a touching homage to the legendary musician.

This poignant song is featured in a new Elvis compilation that honors gospel music, spotlighting Lisa Marie’s remarkable talent. The album consists of 14 tracks, incorporating songs from Elvis’ albums “How Great Thou Art” (1967) and “He Touched Me” (1972) while blending in new instrumentation and vocals from Darlene Love and Cissy Houston.

Lisa Marie’s duet with her father on this song, which originally debuted in 1967, holds a special place in her heart. In the album’s liner notes, she shared her profound emotions: “It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father.” She went on to describe how the lyrics resonate with her, expressing, “The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way.”

Delving into her father’s love for gospel music, Lisa Marie revealed to fans, “This was his favorite genre — no question about it. He seemed to be at his most passionate, and at peace while singing gospel. He would truly come alive — whether he was singing just for himself and me at home, or on stage in front of thousands of fans.”

During an appearance on the British talk show Lorraine, Lisa Marie reminisced about her father, explaining that she can always access memories of him and even ask for help when needed, as she did while working on this record.

The outcome is a profoundly moving duet that brings together both father and daughter. The music video has garnered numerous comments from adoring fans, with one person observing, “Elvis could do Country, Gospel the Blues and Rock n Roll… most artists today can only do one style. No wonder he is known as The King.”

Another fan shared their emotional response to the song, saying, “Her producer said the entire crew was crying during rehearsal, they had to stop because Lisa was crying. The Holy Spirit was there!!! I know there are no tears in heaven, but I can see tears of happiness in Elvis’ eyes today. I’m sure he would be so proud of her. Love this.”

Lyrics to “No One Stands Alone”:

Once I stood in the night
With my head bowed low
In the darkness as black as could be
And my heart felt alone and I cried oh Lord
Don’t hide your face from me
Like a king I may live in a palace so tall
With great riches to call my own
But I don’t know a thing
In this whole wide world
That’s worse than being alone
Hold my hand all the way, every hour every day
Come here to the great unknown
Take my hand, let me stand
Where no one stands alone
Take my hand, let me stand
Where no one stands alone
