Coupons Aren’t Just For Ketchup Anymore And Here’s How They…

The funny thing about coupons is that aside from the bad reputation they seem to get for no reason whatsoever, is that people think that they are only good for that fifty cents off the big bottle of ketchup or some nonsense like that.

Truth be told, I have used coupons on a million different things.

The first thing that people need to realize before they go any further is that you don’t have to put through the newspaper anymore to get coupons. Just shopping online you find coupon codes that you copy and paste when you are ordering your “Whateveritis X-2000” and you can save just by typing in the name of the product you are already intending to buy.

One of my favorite conquests involving coupons was when I was saving up to buy one of those portable power supply systems in case of a power outage. Think of a gas generator without gas. Anyway, these things are not exactly the cheapest things in the world, so I had been doing the responsible thing and saving up a little bit at a time.

Then, while I was reading the millions of product reviews of this thing, I found a coupon code for what amounted to a third of the purchase price. The funny thing was, I had about eighty percent of the money for it so I was able to scoop it up right away.

I get the thing and a month later we had a power outage that lasted about a day or two and aside from the fact that the A/C was out I was able to hook up a small solar panel and keep the family in relative comfort. Had I not been looking for a coupon code to buy the thing cheaper, my family and I would have been sweating our butts off and everything in our fridge turning into a new and exciting medicine.

Online searches are not the only places to find coupons. Chances are that the grocery store you go to has an app you can use on your phone where you search for the products you are looking to buy and will store the digital coupon on the app until it’s time to check out. One scan from the pricing gun on your phone and Boom, you’ve saved money by using the same energy it takes you to look up a sports score.

The point is, in good times and in bad, you need to try and save as much money as you possibly can. The good thing is, it’s almost as easy as sitting and doing nothing.
