Dua Lipa’s concert in Toronto was on fire, literally and figuratively as fans lost control and lit fireworks inside the venue.

On Wednesday night, the Grammy-winning artist took the stage of Scotiabank Arena when a series of fireworks were set off. As a result, three Dua Lipa fans were injured.

Videos shared on social media capture the moment that the fireworks started in the floor section of the Scotiabank Arena.

Police told CityNews that three people suffered minor injuries and were seen by the medics working at the concert but did not require further medical assistance.

From The Daily Caller:

Video footage appears to show Dua Lipa’s shock when she heard the fireworks go off, and it was immediately evident that the special effects were not planned as part of her show. Multiple explosions featuring multicolored fireworks were visible as Dua Lipa and her dancers worked the stage, with looks of confusion on their faces.

Toronto Police Service reports that they responded to frantic calls to the arena shortly before midnight, and they continue to work with the security staff at the Scotiabank Arena as they investigate further. Police and security personnel continue to review surveillance footage to determine how the fireworks were smuggled in to the building, and to identify the individuals responsible for setting them off, according to TMZ.

In a statement shared on social media, the Levitating hitmaker noted that “safe and inclusive spaces” are her topmost priority in all the shows, adding that she and her team are dumbfounded after the recent chain of events.

Realizing that an investigation has been put in place to find the miscreants, the pop star issued an apology to all her fans if they got scared or felt unsafe in any way.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Dua mentioned, “Last night, unauthorized fireworks went off in the crowd during my set in Toronto. Creating a safe and inclusive space at my shows is always my first priority, and my team and I are just as shocked and confused by the events as you all are.”

She continued, “There is an ongoing investigation into the events being conducted, and everyone involved is working hard to find out how this incident occurred. Bringing this show to life for my fans has been such an amazing experience, and I’m so deeply sorry for anyone who was scared, felt unsafe or whose enjoyment of the show was affected in any way.”
