He Said He Wouldn’t Share His Pencils With The Other Kids, Then They Saw The Writing On Them….

How do you motivate your child to perform well at school?

Moms have been packing sweet notes in their kids’ lunch boxes pretty much since the dawn of time, but one mother in Texas figured out a new way to give her son a daily boost. It’s so creative and sweet that it’s going viral.

A teacher named Amanda Cox from Beaumont, Texas, took to Facebook to share a photo of a stack of regular No. 2 pencils, each with a unique message on it.

One day in early October, Cox was short of pencils while she was teaching a class. So, she told all her students to share any extra pencils they had.

One boy, however, asked Cox if he could keep the pencils his mom gave him for school.

“Of course, I said yes,” Cox wrote. But then, the boy changed his mind. He told Cox, “Well, I guess I’ll give you a few so my classmates can have them too.”

Cox didn’t think much of his action and took the pencils from him. It’s only when Cox was sharpening the pencils did she notice the motivational messages written on the boy’s pencils.

“I then realized that my student’s mother took the time to write on his pencils,” Cox wrote.

Curious, Cox asked if he could show her the rest.

All the messages that were written on the pencils are as follows:

  • You are so talented.
  • This will be a great year.
  • You are creative.
  • You are phenomenal.
  • Never give up.
  • You can do this.
  • You are very knowledgeable.
  • You are intelligent.
  • Proud of you every day.
  • I love you!
  • You have a brilliant mind.
  • You are wonderful.
  • You are a problem solver.
  • Follow your dreams.
  • You are perfect.
  • I love you!
  • I am proud of you.
  • You will change the world.
  • You are amazing.
  • You are the best.
  • You are important.

Cox was delighted to see that this boy’s parent was going the extra mile to ensure the boy felt loved and appreciated. She shared a picture of the pencils on Facebook to highlight the simple way this child’s parents improved his life with a few inspiring messages.

“Thanks to his mom, he was reminded of his self-worth and wanted to share the same feeling with his classmates,” wrote Amanda Cox.

Cox is a preschool teacher who is completely dedicated to her job. Since her job involves teaching young children to engage with the world around them through words, numbers, colors, and shapes, she focuses on that completely every day she is inside her preschool classroom. However, like many teachers in America, Amanda Cox does not receive enough funding from the government, so she is forced to rely on creative ways to get the resources she needs.

Cox’s post is a perfect reminder for all parents. Some people may try to tear down your kids or attempt to break their spirit, but if we continually lift them up and tell them they matter, they’re smart, and they’re kind, we can fight the negative with the light of our love.

Please share this message to encourage other parents to look for ways to lift their kids up any chance they get.
