This week, this fast-food employee in Florida offered some real extra value to a customer when he saved a woman and her baby from a carjacking.
An active Chick-fil-A worker, Mykel Gordon, wrestled smartly and on time to save a mother and her infant from a carjacking in Fort Walton Beach, Florida’s Panhandle.
The suspect, William Branch, 43, tried to attack and carjack a mother carrying a baby before being put to the ground by the local chick-fil-a hero.
As per Okaloosa Country Sherrif’s Facebook Post, the suspect attempted to loot the woman’s keys on the 14th of September in the restaurant’s parking lot.
The mom was taking her child to the car, and the suspect attacked for robbing them. He shouted at them, demanding keys, and attacked. Then he entered the vehicle, and the victim shouted. After hearing the shout, our hero acted immediately and put him down with his MMA-styled headlock.

The latter part of this heroic incident was captured on video. Watch the video below:

Matthew Sexton, the operator of the Fort Walton Beach Chick-fil-A location gave a statement about the incident, commending the employee for his bravery and quick action.
“We’re so relieved that our Guests and Team Members are safe following this alarming incident. I’m grateful for my amazing Team Member, Mykel Gordon, who so selflessly jumped in to intervene and help our Guests. I couldn’t be prouder of his incredible act of care,” said Sexton.
The Okaloosa Sherriff’s Office also praised the brave employee for his courage:

Branch, who hails from DeFuniak Springs, was charged with battery and carjacking with a weapon. It is still unclear if the 43-year-old has obtained an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
According to police, Gordon told deputies that the suspect had been involved in another incident at the restaurant earlier that day. Branch allegedly reached into another woman’s car about 10 minutes before the attempted carjacking. A second incident report stated that Branch unlocked the driver’s door and got into the vehicle.
Branch then sat on top of the woman inside the car and placed all his body weight on her, telling her to get out. According to the report, after she screamed for help, Gordon intervened and chased off the suspect.
This was not the first time Gordon lent a helping hand to a customer. He helped two teenage girls back in 2018 after a truck failed to negotiate a turn and fell onto the girls’ vehicle, according to the Northwest Florida Daily News.
The dad of one of the girls told the newspaper that God resonates there, and it is a miracle in many ways how this happened. He added that to have people like this step forward and make something happen, he knows not everybody will do something like that.
