Police say a mother and her 2-year-old daughter were killed by a lightning strike in Margate, Florida, on Sunday afternoon. The father says he witnessed the strike nearby.

According to police, the victims were Kenya Glasgow, 31, and her daughter, Kennedi. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon in Margate, Florida.

What the father says he saw

Accounts reported by the New York Post state that Kam Glasgow said he saw a lightning bolt and felt its effects through the ground. When he looked toward his family, Kenya and Kennedi were on the sidewalk, according to those reports.
