Police in Collier’s County Florida are conducting a manhunt for Roberto Lopez, 40, of Immokalee, Florida, who also uses a dozen different aliases for suspicion of sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12. The girl is only two years old. Lopez has a long criminal record spanning 16 years including driving without a licence, multiple incidents of driving under the influence, as well as battery, domestic violence and fraud. The child was taken to the hospital for what was believed to be an injury from a fall but turned out to be from sexual abuse.
Police are hunting a man accused of sexually assaulting a toddler, leaving her in a critical condition.
Roberto Lopez, 40, of Immokalee, Florida, is wanted on suspicion of sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12.
Collier’s County Sheriff’s office have not released details about the alleged sexual assault, only the victim is now in a critical condition.
In a Facebook post, the force appealed for information on the suspect.
It reads: “A District judge this morning approved a warrant for the arrest of an Immokalee man who sexually battered a juvenile under the age of 12.
“Roberto Lopez, 40, of Immokalee, goes by several aliases. Deputies believe he sexually battered a juvenile on Monday.
It adds: “Deputies learned of the crime after the juvenile was brought to a hospital for injuries her family believed she sustained during a fall. Medical professionals who examined the juvenile contacted deputies when they suspected a crime that was sexual in nature.
“The victim is safe and in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.”
The wanted notice described Lopez as having a history of violent offences.
Arrest records show he has been in and out of jail over the last 16 years for a number of offences.
These include driving without a licence, multiple incidents of driving under the influence, as well as battery, domestic violence and fraud.
