In an interview released on March 22, Former President Trump, labeled the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, Anthony Fauci, “a promoter more than anything” after the two sometimes clashed on the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I thought rather than firing him, you know, I listened to him, but I didn’t do what he said because, frankly, his record is not a good record,” Trump told the podcast “The Truth with Lisa Boothe.”
From January to early March the nation experienced a sharp decline in coronavirus cases, the number of daily new infections has hovered between roughly 50,000 and 60,000, according to data from the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC). “It really is almost a race between getting people vaccinated and having this peak that… we don’t want to see,” Fauci said.
