Rep. Brian Mast told TMZ at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport that airport security is more complicated for him because of his metal prosthetic legs.
‘Scanned by many hands’
TMZ’s D.C. reporter asked Mast on a Thursday morning, as Congress headed into a district work period, whether getting through TSA is tough with metal legs. In the on-camera exchange, Mast replied that it is, explaining that because he can’t be scanned by a metal detector, he gets “scanned by many hands” instead. He added that agents have tried to use a handheld wand on him, but, as he put it, he’s “half‑metal,” so it “never really works out.”
