She Took One Look At Her Security Camera, And Immediately Went After Her Boyfriend…

A Florida mother’s intuition set off alarm bells that she couldn’t afford to ignore. During her absence, she decided to turn to her home security cameras for reassurance. The sight that greeted her was a nightmare brought to life, prompting her to race home and confront the monstrous actions of her boyfriend.

Her 32-year-old boyfriend, Shawn Stone, had been given the responsibility of looking after her five-year-old son while she attended a medical appointment. A nagging feeling of unease led her to access her home’s camera footage through her mobile app, revealing a scene of absolute horror unfolding within their DeLand residence.

As she tapped into the camera feed, she was met with a terrifying scene: Stone was ruthlessly beating her young son as punishment for wetting his bed. She watched, horrified, as Stone continually punched and kicked the helpless child who was curled up in a protective ball on his bed. The torment didn’t end there. Despite the child’s desperate pleas, Stone allegedly escalated his attack, using a mop as a weapon.

The brutality was such that the mop shattered under the force. Following this, the camera feed suddenly cut out. Driven by fear and outrage, the mother hurried home to confront Stone, who spat out the words, “I f****** hate you,” and, “I f****** hate your child,” before escaping on an ATV.

The incident was brought to the attention of the authorities when the hospital staff reported the boy’s injuries, which included a fractured skull and several older wounds.

Stone, rather than face the consequences of his actions, attempted to evade the police on his ATV. His flight was short-lived, as vigilant deputies spotted him during their search and promptly apprehended him. Stone was charged with aggravated child abuse, a serious felony in Florida that could land him in prison for up to 30 years. Sheriff Mike Chitwood shared an image of Stone’s arrest on Facebook, commending the swift action of his deputies.

Chitwood didn’t mince words in his social media post, stating:

“I want to commend these deputies for making quick work of tracking down our Scumbag of the Week. This morning, Shawn M. Stone punched, kicked, and used a mop handle to beat a 5-year-old child who had an accident. The child was taken to the hospital for treatment and Shawn fled on a 4-wheeler,” he continued, “He was just taken into custody a short time ago and is headed to jail on a charge of aggravated child abuse.”

During his interrogation, Stone admitted to slapping the boy and using a mop as an intimidation tool, but he denied the severity of the child’s injuries. Stone claimed that his anger had overwhelmed him when he discovered the bedwetting incident but denied beating the boy repeatedly or causing serious harm. The boy’s extensive injuries, however, painted a starkly different picture.

The child was transferred to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando for the treatment of his fractured skull. Medical examinations unveiled other injuries, including healing fractured ribs and wrist fractures. Detectives also noted various visible wounds on the child’s body, including cigarette burn marks, a lacerated lip, facial bruises, and a mop handle-shaped bruise on his thigh.

The boy’s mother revealed that Stone had a history of methamphetamine use, but had been sober for a while. Unfortunately, Stone’s past was laden with criminal convictions, including multiple arrests since 2010 for charges ranging from burglary and armed burglary to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and grand theft. Despite serving a seven-year sentence as recently as 2015, Stone was released after only five and a half years.

Sadly, his time behind bars didn’t seem to have reformed him, and his second chance at freedom came at a steep cost for a vulnerable child. This chilling incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential dangers of bringing someone with a troubled past into one’s life.

Stone’s past was littered with criminal offenses, from burglary and armed burglary to firearm possession as a convicted felon. His history was further marred by a conviction for dealing in stolen property and defrauding a pawn shop.

In 2015, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and dealing in stolen property. Despite this sentence, he was released in 2021, after serving only five and a half years.

Regrettably, Stone’s time in prison didn’t bring about any reform. He resumed his life of crime, this time with a helpless childbearing the brunt of his unchecked rage. This grim event stands as a stark warning about the risks of inviting individuals with such a checkered past into one’s life. In a tragic twist, the child paid the price for Stone’s second chance at life.
