There’s An Awful Reason Naomi Judd’s Granddaughter Won’t Come To Her Funeral!

The burial and funeral service of Grammy-winning country music singer Naomi Judd was held on Monday (May 2, 2022). Many country icons come to pay tribute to the late singer.

The country music legend died at the age of 76 years on Saturday. Many reports claimed she died of suicide after a lifelong battle with mental health issues. On Sunday, April 1, Naomi Judd was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the ceremony was attended by her daughters Wynonna and Ashley Judd.

But, the news shocks as her granddaughter Grace Pauline Kelley won’t be allowed to attend it, while Naomi’s daughters Wynonna and Ashley Judd publically grieved for their lost loved one on Sunday.

You may be thinking as to why it would happen. It’s because Grace is serving a prison sentence. Also, the news was confirmed by the correction facility that they won’t release the 25-year-old Kelley.

26-year-old Grace Pauline Kelly is Naomi’s daughter’s (Wynonna) daughter. She has already been landed in prison several times because of struggling with drug convictions.

Currently, she is being held at Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center in Nashville, Tennessee serving an eight-year prison for cooking and dealing meth. As of now, Grace Kelley is under custody.

Kelley was first arrested in 2016 for the manufacture, distribution, and sale of methamphetamine. She was released on probation after 30 days in prison. However, she was rearrested in 2020. Kelley was granted parole in 2021 but was quickly returned to prison for violating the conditions of her parole.

Daily Mail noted:

Dorinda Carter, the spokeswoman for the state Department of Correction, reported that inmates can be temporarily released in the event of an extreme circumstance, such as a family member’s death, and would be permitted to attend a church service or wake.

Carter revealed that they have not received any request for Kelley to be released for her grandmother’s funeral. “We have not received a request,” Carter told the Daily Mail. “No one has asked.”
