After they decided to burn three tons of seized drugs, it wasn’t long before they realized that they had made a terrible mistake.
After police officers in Indonesia made a massive drug bust, they were elated, but they also had to determine how to dispose of the three tons of highly potent marijuana that was in their possession. Unlike certain parts of the United States, cannabis is not legal in Indonesia. The overzealous police thought that the best course of action would be to burn the 3.3 tons of seized drugs in a bonfire just outside of West Jakarta. However, they quickly encountered just one small problem…

In a nutshell, the police burned so much marijuana that they ended up infecting the air with THC and causing many of the locals to get “high”. Locals soon began complaining of headaches, dizziness, and euphoria, all something that can occur when an individual has inhaled too much marijuana smoke. Needless to say, this Indonesian police department made a major mistake when they attempted to protect Indonesians from the dangers of drug use.
The victims were so bombarded with the smell of marijuana smoke because of the incompetence of the local police that it even included local journalists. Naturally, they refused to stay silent about the issue and the mistake they had made by burning so much weed in the air.
It wasn’t just marijuana that the police burned either. They attempted to burn ecstasy and methamphetamine and there is a possibility that might have contributed to the highs that some of the local people had experienced.

The fire consumed over 2,500 ecstasy pills along with 1.8 kilograms of crystal meth. Luckily, these chemicals did not make their way into the local water supply because then the locals would have been drinking contaminated water as well.
Obviously, the police in this town are going to struggle to live this down because it was a very ghastly error and one that goes against everything that law enforcement stands for. The main task of cops is to get people to stop abusing drugs, not get the entire town high on marijuana smoke. Perhaps they should take some training on the proper disposal of drugs.
Luckily, even when it is three tons of seized drugs, marijuana is not all that dangerous.
C’mon man! They could have sent it to Hunter. That would make an impression on his dad.
