On Sunday, Tim Walz made an appearance at the Minnesota State Fair and promptly generated controversy.
Struggling with a stolen valor scandal involving multiple instances of misrepresenting or falsifying his military history, including his service location and retirement rank, Walz was confronted by reporters.
Clutching his ice cream, Kamala Harris’ vice presidential pick stood poised until he was confronted with a question that unnerved him.
In a widely circulated video, a reporter can be heard asking Walz about the recent killing of six hostages by Hamas. His reaction? He hastily fled as if he had encountered a ghost.

REPORTER: What’s your reaction to the six hostages being found dead in Gaza?
WALZ: Alright, thanks, everybody (waves and walks off).
The journalist is discussing the six individuals who were shot by Hamas on Saturday as IDF forces were nearing.
Among the deceased was an American named Hersh Goldberg-Polin.
Their bodies were discovered in Rafah, a city in Gaza that Harris and other administration members had previously declared as restricted.
In response to the tragedy, Walz did not offer comfort, acknowledge the atrocity, or speak out against Hamas and demand their surrender.
Instead, he abruptly ended the press gathering and left.
There are no excuses for his behavior – he was present and heard the question, and there was a quiet environment. Regardless of his knowledge about the situation, he could have at least offered condolences before leaving.
In the face of such a tragedy, Walz did not offer comfort or acknowledge the atrocity. He also did not speak forcefully against Hamas or demand the terrorist government’s surrender. Instead, the would-be vice president abruptly ended the press gaggle and left.
He was standing there waiting for the question to be asked and the room was largely quiet at the time, so it’s clear he heard the question.
It was only after hearing the content of the inquiry from the reporter that he suddenly decided to leave.
Furthermore, regardless of any lack of information he may have had about the situation, there was nothing stopping him from offering his condolences before leaving hastily.
Gets asked a direct question about dead hostages, including an American, looks at his handler, turns his back and walks away. Depraved.
