Tom Cruise’s Message To Top Gun Fans Is Absolutely Perfect…

Top Gun, starring Tom Cruise as Navy fighter pilot “Maverick,” was released in theaters more than 35 years ago. After the pandemic caused numerous delays in the release of Top Gun: Maverick, it was ultimately released on May 27th, with fans of both generations flooding back into theaters for this long-awaited sequel.

Tom Cruise owes his success to the fans who helped him become the seventh-highest grossing film of 2022.

Cruise has been clamoring for a sequel to Top Gun for years, hoping to relive the excitement of flying a real plane as he did in the 1980s. He even told followers that this film was made especially for them and that he hoped they would enjoy the experience.

Tom Cruise took to Twitter to thank his supporters for helping him achieve a historic weekend box office record, before sharing the tweet on his Instagram Story.

On Tuesday, the 59-year-old actor tweeted. “Thank you to everyone who saw #TopGun: Maverick and helped make it a historic opening weekend,” the action star wrote.

Over the weekend, Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel to the 1986 original, grossed an estimated $124 million in the United States. According to multiple reports, this is also Cruise’s largest opening weekend to date.

The picture grossed an estimated $156 million over its four-day opening weekend, making it the highest Memorial Day weekend opening ever. In 2007, it outperformed Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, which grossed $153 million.

Prior to the release of the film, Cruise’s highest opening weekend was for War of the Worlds, which earned $64 million in 2005.
