Who the Philadelphia Mayor Is Blaming For A Philadelphia Shooting Is Absolutely Wrong!

Over the 4th of July weekend in Philadelphia, two police officers were shot in Philadelphia during the city’s massive fireworks show, transforming a festive holiday event into a chaotic scene as revelers stampeded out of fear of an active shooter situation while the colorful pyrotechnic display exploded across the sky.

Thankfully, both of the officers survived.

The tragic incident happened when the officers were on duty in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum, setting off the pandemonium that capped off a day of partying at the Wawa Welcome America Party, the first time that the event has been held since the COVID outbreak.

One user on Twitter reported that two officers had been shot on the scene.

When reporters asked Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney to comment on the violence, he had plenty to say. He started off by saying that the United States is a “gun country” and blamed the Second Amendment and the Supreme Court for all of these problems. He then went on to wistfully recount a recent trip he made to Canada where he didn’t even think about the problems of gun violence.

When was the last time a concealed-carry permit holder shot a cop?

Mayor Jim Kenney: “It was a laid back, chill day — weather was beautiful, concert was beautiful, but we live in America, and we have the Second Amendment, and we have the [Supreme Court] telling everybody they can carry a gun wherever they want.”

The Supreme Court ruled against New York’s gun law that included strict rules for concealed carry in the state. Prior to this ruling, the state could decide who it wanted to have this right and who it didn’t.

Democrats were furious with the Supreme Court for siding with American citizens and their right to self-defense.

Jim Kenney came into office in Philadelphia promising to empty the jails and defund the police. He quickly appointed a Police Chief (with the ironic surname of “Outlaw”) who supported those same goals.

As any person with common sense God gave a goat could have predicted, crime began rising almost immediately and has continued to do so. Shootings are far more common than they used to be. This has led to a flood of applications for gun permits as citizens seek to protect themselves since the police won’t or can’t. This is particularly common among women.

Philadelphia has long been a one-party city, these things don’t work because they are tactics without the benefit of a strategy.

With that in mind, it is painfully apparent that the only strategy that could possibly help Philly is for Jim Kenney to do the right thing … and that is to resign.
