WHOA: Middle Eastern Celebration Selfie RUINED By Horrible Landmine Accident [VIDEO]

Working with explosives is always one of those weird things where you have two groups of people; the folks that know what they are doing, and the folks that say they know what they are doing.

Case in point, I have an uncle that lived across the street from a park that had a bunch of little league baseball fields. He could walk from his wrong door, sixty yards, and be standing on a pitcher’s mound. Was great when we would visit as kids.

Anyway, every Fourth of July he would shoot off fireworks in the baseball field. Now, you ever find someone that you think that they know what they are doing and then suddenly realize that maybe they weren’t too sure of themselves? Well….

My uncle one time strapped a bunch of M80s together and dug a little trench on the pitcher’s mound. He covered it up, burying the sticks in the dirt….He lit the fuse and ran…Only problem was he never factored on exactly how much gunpowder was involved in this little celebration of America’s birthday. By the time he got to the fence on the first base line, the explosion happened. He blew the whole damn pitcher’s mound up.

Now, how does a story about my uncle almost blowing up a baseball field have anything to do with what you are about to watch?

Well, my uncle at least had the foresight of paying attention to his surroundings. He didn’t stand there while the fuse went down. He took care of where to step. Unlike this poor guy in the background..

It’s one of the reasons why situational awareness is so damned important people..
