A woman shared her breakup story following a viral trend and boy if it doesn’t shock people. The bar for men has gone so low, so hopefully, this is a unique case of just the man Jackie Li happened to date, unfortunately.

Hawaiian TikTok creator Jackie Li shared that she was dating her ex-boyfriend for four years when one day, he Venmo’ed her $7.

Posting the incident to TikTok, Jackie revealed that an ex-boyfriend of hers had asked for money back after buying her some Dayquil.

And this happened four years into their relationship!

Jackie told her followers that shortly after receiving the Dayquil, she went to sleep, but was left shocked after she woke up and realized that her boyfriend had Venmo charged her seven dollars for the medicine.

While doing her makeup, the TikTok creator recalled the moment, saying:

“One time I was feeling really sick and I asked my boyfriend at the time if he could buy me some cold medicine on his way home. So after he finished work, he dropped by CVS and picked up some Dayquil for me. Really kind of him, really appreciate that.”

She continued:

“I wake up and he has Venmo charged me $7 for this medicine,” she added. “He Venmo charged me $7 for cold medicine.”

“I think I prefer a relationship where it’s like, ‘Hey, I’ll get this, you get that the next time,’ and we’re not keeping track of our expenses, dollar by dollar,” she added. “I should’ve known, but you know, we’re not together anymore so it wasn’t meant to be.”

Since it was posted, the video has been viewed 4.9 million times and gained thousands of comments from other people who have also experienced similar things in previous relationships.

“My ex asked me to give him $2 for fries once… literally so embarrassing,” wrote one user.

“My ex venmo charged me $2.99 for washer fluid bc while he was using my car it ran out and he had to buy more,” another added.

A third even said that they had to give their boyfriend some money for an avocado: “My ex of 2 years made me Venmo him for the avocado I wanted at the grocery store as we were shopping for dinner.”

Another person added, “Watching couples nickel and find each other on Venmo is so funny like I can tell who is going to stick and who isn’t on charges ALONE.”
