Why They Kicked This Kindergarten Out Of School Will Make You… joe August 29, 2022 Uncategorized A 5-year-old girl was kicked out of a Christian school in Louisiana because administrators said her lesbian parents didn’t fit the school’s values. Just two days before kindergarten began at Baptist Bible Academy in DeQuincy, Zoey Parker was expelled. The same-sex couple who have been married since 2016 to their parents, Emily, 28, and Jennie Parker, 31, say they were called to a meeting by the school’s principal and pastor on Saturday. According to Jennie, “We were informed that Zoey would no longer be allowed to attend school due to our lifestyle choices.” Zoey, who is Emily’s niece and whose father died in 2020, previously attended the pre-K school, but after the Parkers adopted her this summer, Baptist Bible Academy said they were no longer interested. The Parkers first shared their story in a Facebook post and have since said the community support they’ve received has been overwhelming, saying numerous Christian schools in the area have reached out to say Zoey would be welcome there. Now, Zoey began attending Hamilton Christian School in Lake Charles after finally being accepted into one of those institutions. “There are decent Christians in the world. They are the reason we keep our religion,” Jennie said. “The entire DeQuincy community has shown us what it takes to be a decent Christian and not preach hate like this.” “The pastor met us in the meeting room and started talking about gender identification and that they teach the words of the Lord and marriage was between a man and a woman. They didn’t think this was a good fit,” Emily revealed. Zoey’s father died in an industrial accident in 2020 while at work. Her mother is no longer in her life for unexplained reasons. That’s why Emily, Zoey’s aunt, adopted her brother’s daughter into her family on August 3, 2022. “She lost her father, she lost her mother, and now she’s losing her school, which she loves very much,” Jennie said. Here’s what Emily wrote in a Facebook post, thanking everyone who helped them: “I do want to thank my friends, family, and all the countless enraged strangers,” Emily wrote on Facebook. “They did not stand behind us, they stood in front of us. They fought with and for our little girl. They are the real MVP. Our community did not let this injustice slide by. I am humbled.” Source: AWM Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
