Yet ANOTHER NFL Player ARRESTED On Gun Charge!

Former NFL tight end Orson Charles was arrested after reportedly pulling a gun on two off-duty police officers who pulled into a parking spot he had been waiting for.

According to the Tampa Police Department 31-year-old Charles, who previously played with the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, and several other NFL teams, got into an argument with two officers as the two parties attempted to park their vehicles in a parking lot near East 8th Avenue and North 19th Street in Ybor City.

The officers showed their badges to Charles, but he ignored them. Charles reportedly cursed at the off-duty cops and said “I have one in the head,” according to the affidavit.

“What (are) you trying to do?” Charles said while brandishing the gun, according to police.

“I don’t give a f***, I have one in the head,” Charles allegedly told the cops before cursing at them.

The police officers who had the gun pulled on them did not arrest Charles, instead, they drove away from the parking spot due to the risk of being shot. The off-duty officers called in the incident as they drove off and another off-duty deputy kept eyes on Charles until he was eventually taken into custody.

More details of this incident from The Daily Wire report:
Charles was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, and introduction of contraband into a detention facility. He was being held in jail on a $6,250 bond, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The officers did not attempt to arrest Charles on the scene, instead leaving the space and calling in the incident, according to police.

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 257-pound receiver played two seasons with the Bengals, then was out of football for two seasons. He caught on the Detroit Lions in 2016, then played a year each for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Cleveland Browns. He has not played since 2018. For his career, Charles recorded 14 catches for 185 yards and no touchdowns.

This is not the first time Charles has had a run-in with the law. He was arrested for a DUI a month before the 2012 NFL Draft. Charles was also arrested for wanton endangerment in 2014 after a road rage incident in which a driver told police he had displayed a gun.
