The major tactic in the Democratic Party playbook whenever they encounter something they don’t agree with is try to find as many bad things to say about it as humanly possible.
The hope in this particular tactic to say as many horrible things about a person or an idea that someone that they don’t like is trying to push in the hopes that someone believes at least one of them long enough for them to run out the clock on whatever the Republican idea might be.
Whether it be the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice or quite seriously the President wanting to say that apples are delicious they will find a way to make the idea look bad.
It’s known as a wrap up smear and there is no place for reality in the conversation when Democrats employ this particular weapon
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi explained the strategy of demonizing a target and cycling it through the echo chamber of the friendly legacy media to destroy a political opponent.
Saul Alinsky, who served as a mentor to Hillary Clinton, wrote the current Democrat’s playbook many decades ago when he wrote Rules for Radicals.
Now read Rule 13: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
With that in mind, here is Pelosi explaining how the wrap-up smear works:
Democrats didn’t invent this tactic but, with the backing of the mainstream media, they use it very effectively.
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” – Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda
Now think about how the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee coordinated with progressive activists to a take a totally unsubstantiated sexual assault smear, bring in hundreds of paid protesters to guarantee massive friendly media coverage, and divided a nation over it.
