Mere Hours After Complaining His Stomach Hurt, They Found Him Dead…

Do you remember being back in high school or college? Waking up every morning early sitting in classes all day long learning, and making lifelong friendships and memories you would never forget. Your favorite teachers, books, constant writing assignments, math, and everything else that comes with getting an education.

Not everyone gets this amazing privilege to live a full and meaningful life here on planet earth. Some of us are lucky enough and should always remember every day is a blessing just to be alive. That brings us to today’s tragic and heartbreaking story.

It began as just a regular old Tuesday in Pearland Texas, slightly cloudy with a small breeze, fresh air was filling 17-year-old Joshua’s Grays lungs that morning. Josh was a kid everybody at school just gravitated to. On top of being athletic, his grades were top notch and he was in many advanced placement classes.

But this one strange Tuesday would change everything forever.

Josh visited the nurse’s office after complaining of a severe stomach ache.

As he started to feel stomach pains, 17-year-old Josh rushed to the nurse’s office at Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas. Just two hours after that, the teen who enjoyed traveling and playing golf was dead.

Doctors revealed that the artery connected to Josh’s pancreas ruptured, and as a result of that, his pancreas ruptured as well. Unfortunately, they couldn’t stop the bleeding. Doctors said that there was no way to see this tragedy happening, making the circumstances even more worrisome.

“He went from going to school yesterday morning — normal day, happy — to having a stomach ache, to within two hours not being with us anymore,” Josh’s mother, Laurie Gray, told KHOU.

Josh was scheduled to embark on a mission trip, but after his sudden death, his friends planned to participate in the mission trip in his memory. “We love Josh,” said his friend Seth Blunt. “We all love Josh. He’s connected to us.”

“Josh loved everyone for who they were,” added his friend Austin Hurst. “I’m loud and obnoxious; he loved that about me. I mean, he loved all of us for exactly who we were. And that was the best part about being with Josh; you could be you.”

Left to cope with the sudden loss, Josh’s loved ones set up an online fundraiser to cover the cost of expenses incurred by his death. They are also raising money for research aimed at finding and curing rare underlying diseases. The GoFundMe account has already far surpassed its goal of raising at least $30,000.
