She Took A Drink From Her Neighbor’s Water Filter, And Her Neighbor Almost Tackled Her To The Ground…

The phrase “You get what you pay for” virtually all the time reigns true, particularly in the case of shopping for low-cost vodka.

Luckily, an inexpensive vodka hack has gone viral on TikTok that has many individuals pouring their liquor with a Brita filter. The outcomes? It apparently tastes like water.

This hack went viral on TikTok, accumulating millions of views. TikTok users filmed themselves explaining the hack, “when you combine these two, you get something that tastes like water but acts like vodka” while pouring their low-end vodka into a Brita pitcher and claiming that it came out tasting just like water.

The immediate reaction is for viewers to try it for themselves, ‘stitching’ their reactions to the original video. With hundreds of reactions to this hack, I found myself hearing a lot of conflicting reviews: some swore by this trick and others insisted that it did nothing.

In fact, the idea was the subject of a Mythbusters episode filmed all the way back in 2006. But does filtering cheap vodka actually make it taste better? And what is the science behind the trend?

TikTok user Elliott Norris garnered more than five million views on a video that showed himself and a friend putting the idea into practice. They were both shocked by the results. “It tastes like nothing,” Norris said, while his friend added, “It tastes like water”.

Basically, the theory is that a Brita filter will cut out any impurities found in the vodka, which could alter the taste, clarity, and texture of the resulting liquid. It is very important to note, though, that filtering vodka will not lead to it making you less drunk or changing the chemical composition of the drink. So please drink responsibly and exercise all usual caution, even if the vodka doesn’t taste quite the same as it did before passing through the filter.

It’s also worth noting that the filtering trend doesn’t appear to actually make the vodka taste better per se, rather it alters the taste and appears to take some of the stronger flavor elements away (another reason to exercise caution with how much you drink).

  • First off if your vodka has a taste then you need to stop buying the cheap garbage. Real Vodka has no taste and is made from potatoes not grain. That junk that is made from grain is an insult to GOOD VODKA. Those that are flavored are just trying to hide the FACT that they are badly made.
