Democrats knew the ship is starting to sink and it’s time they jump, leaving a huge advantage to the Republicans.

They only ask for five seats to take the House majority after the midterms, but good lord, Republicans were given more than triple the amount they asked for.

So far, a total of 18 Democrats have decided to officially call it quits on the House and have left their seats open for a fight, giving Republicans a chance to gain another seat since House Republicans only need to net five seats to gain the majority and retire Pelosi as Speaker.

The number of Democrats compare to Republicans only holds a slim majority in the House, 222-213, this shows a difference of five seats to regain the majority in the midterms in 2022. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s dream of keeping the Democrat majority past the midterms is not likely to come true.

According to Breitbart’s report, Democrats have chosen to retire or seek a different office rather than fighting in brutal reelection.

President Joe Biden saw his lowest job approval numbers. Biden’s job approval found a new low of 36.4 percent during the first nine months of his presidency, according to a Zogby poll. While the poll also found that 61.3 percent of the respondents gave Biden a negative rating, the president was underwater with all age categories, particularly the younger generation of voters between 18 and 29, which viewed him 63 percent negatively and only 34 percent positively.

“Nobody wants to run as a House Democrat this cycle because all Democrats’ majority has given the American people is higher prices, skyrocketing crime, and open borders,” says Mike Berg, the spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, the group responsible for helping Republican incumbents and winning back the House majority.

The 11 Democrats who have chosen to retire are:

  • Tom Suozzi (D-NY)
  • Filemon Vela (D-TX)
  • Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ)
  • Cheri Bustos (D-IL)
  • Ron Kind (D-WI)
  • John Yarmuth (D-KY)
  • David Price (D-NC)
  • Mike Doyle (D-PA)
  • Jackie Speier (D-CA)
  • G.K. Butterfield (D-NC)
  • Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX)

The seven Democrats who have chosen to run for a different office are:

  • Tim Ryan (D-OH), who will be running for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican Senator Rob Portman
  • Charlie Crist (D-FL), who is running for Florida governor against Republican Ron DeSantis
  • Val Demings (D-FL), who will be running for Senate in Florida
  • Conor Lamb (D-PA), who will be running for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican Senator Pat Toomey
  • Karen Bass (D-CA), who will be running for mayor in Los Angeles to replace outgoing Democrat Mayor Eric Garcetti
  • Anthony Brown (D-MD), who is now running for Maryland Attorney General
  • Peter Welch (D-VT), who is now running for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Democrat Senator Patrick Leahy

Follow-up reports also stated that there are rumors that additional Democrats will be “abandoning ship in the coming months leading up to the election,” and even some “reports of Pelosi herself contemplating leaving elected office.”
