A devastating tragedy unfolded in Florida, as a 2-year-old boy was discovered lifeless in an alligator’s jaws near his family’s apartment, shortly after his mother was found dead inside their home.
Down in St. Petersburg, Florida, folks are reeling from a heart-wrenching tragedy that has left the community shaken to the core. Little 2-year-old Taylen Mosley went missin’ on a Wednesday, only to be found on Friday in the most horrifying way possible – in the jaws of an alligator near his family’s apartment.
But the nightmare didn’t stop there. Taylen’s momma, Pashun Jeffrey, was found dead inside their home, and stabbed to death. Now, the boy’s father, 21-year-old Thomas Mosley, is facin’ two counts of first-degree murder.
St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway shared how officers were searching for Taylen near Dell Holmes Park when they spotted an alligator with somethin’ in its mouth. They fired a shot, and that gator dropped what it was carrying – poor little Taylen’s body.
The whole mess started on a Wednesday evening when neighbors heard a loud ruckus coming from the family’s apartment. But nobody called the cops that night. It wasn’t until the next day, when Pashun’s momma couldn’t get ahold of her daughter, that she contacted the apartment complex’s property manager.
That’s when the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the FBI, and local cops teamed up with dive teams to look for Taylen. They never imagined they’d find him the way they did – clutched in the jaws of an alligator in a recreation area close to his home. The cause of the boy’s death ain’t clear yet.
Thomas Mosley showed up at his momma’s house with cuts on his arms and hands around 9 p.m. on that fateful Wednesday. After that, he checked himself into a nearby hospital.
The community of St. Petersburg is left pickin’ up the pieces after this gut-wrenchin’ tragedy. The awful loss of little Taylen and his momma, Pashun, has folks struggling to make sense of it all. With heavy hearts, they hope for justice to be served for this devastated family.
