What One Elementary School Replaced The Pledge Of Allegiance With Is Absolutely Mind Boggling!

I remember when I was a kid, we would do the Pledge of Allegiance in the morning before class really started and it wasn’t anything anyone really thought about as something that could remotely be a problem.

Please rise, “I pledge allegiance to the Wolf Pack” wait, what?

An elementary charter school in Atlanta has done away with the Pledge of Allegiance, and in its place, students will do a “wolf pack chant.”

Given that the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School’s mascot is the wolf, this does make sense. Sort of. Except that Principal Lara Zelski’s reason for ditching the Pledge is, unfortunately, a familiar and clearly stupid one: “to begin [the] day as a fully inclusive and connected community.”

So rather than pledge allegiance to the American flag and the nation for which it stands, they’ll be focusing on their responsibility to “our global society” instead. That’s pretty inclusive.

According to Zelski: “Students will continue to lead the meeting by asking our community to stand to participate in our wolf pack chant together.”

Just as baffling, what in the world is “The Wolf Pack Chant”?

“Students will continue to lead the meeting by asking our community to stand to participate in our Wolf Pack Chant together. Students will also be given the opportunity to say the pledge at another point during the school day within their classroom.”

The pledge “will focus on students’ civic responsibility to their school family, community, country and our global society.”

She noted: “This decision was made in an effort to begin our day as a fully inclusive and connected community. There are many emotions around (the pledge) and we want everyone in our school family to start their day in a positive manner.”

The Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School, which serves kindergarten through fifth-grade students, opened in 2002.

This lack of appreciation for the US at such an early age is distressing.

Can’t they at least wait until the ninth grade to diss the flag and the generations that have gone before, sacrificing to preserve freedom and opportunity?

Fortunately, according to the latest update, the school decided to do this obviously on their own. Because of the backlash, they have now backed off and said, okay, we’re not going to do that. We’re still going to start with the Pledge of Allegiance.

  • move your worthless azz to another country.. too many $luts have had a wonderful life here until they spend time in university learning leftist crap… take your ignorance to infect others ..

  • I doubt it will happen, but every administrator in that school district who voted for this should be fired. But I suppose the school board supports this nonsense, so it won’t change unless the parents of these kids fight back and make themselves heard and force those people out and stop what is implicitly anti-American brainwashing.
