Finally, these Republicans stood up and this is long overdue.

Over the weekend, the Texas State Republican Convention passed a resolution, declaring, “President Joseph Robinnette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States.”

More than 9,000 Texas Republicans came down for the annual GOP convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

The Texas GOP platform was posted online on Sunday, at the conclusion of the convention. Included were resolutions declaring the 2020 elections illegitimate, and condemning Senator John Cornyn (R., Texas) over his role in recent bipartisan negotiations on gun legislation.

Texas Republicans discuss the issues of the day, such as election integrity, immigration, gun control, and the economy.

Here’s what the new Texas Republican Party platform reads:

“We reject the certified results of the 2020 Presidential election, and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States. We strongly urge all Republicans to work to ensure election integrity and to show up to vote in November of 2022, bring your friends and family, volunteer for your local Republicans, and overwhelm any possible fraud.”

Cornyn was met with boos after he took the stage to justify his support of gun control legislation that would expand background checks for gun owners younger than 21 and provide funds to “red flag” laws that currently exist in 19 states.

The convention also passed a pro-life resolution that would require Texas students to learn about the “humanity of the preborn child” and teach that life begins at fertilization. A resolution that calls for the abolition of the Federal Reserve was also passed at the convention.

The agenda was a massive victory for grassroots conservatives in Texas who have long believed the Republican Party is too moderate on immigration and social issues, among other things.
