Former Barack Obama era Inspector General Charles K. Edwards and his assistant Yamazula Venkata were indicted by a District of Columbia federal grand jury on 16 separate counts of theft and fraud. Once again, the rats were in charge of guarding the cheese. This is why the deep state hates President Donald Trump so much.

Obama’s Inspector General indicted for illegal scheme

The top two men in charge of investigating government fraud and abuse at the Department of Homeland Security stole special computer software for reverse engineering. Then they tried to sell it back to the government at a profit. They may have leaked details of a secure system to India in the process.

Between October of 2014 and April of 2017, Edwards and Venkata “executed a scheme to defraud the U.S. government by stealing confidential and proprietary software from DHS Office of Inspector General (OIG), along with sensitive government databases containing personal identifying information (PII) of DHS and USPS employees.” Isn’t that the kind of crime they were supposed to be investigating? Who watches the watchers?

Edwards set up a private company called Delta Business Solutions and went to work on an “enhanced version of DHS-OIG’s software” that he could sell back to the government. Edwards left at the end of 2013 but his inside accomplice continued to steal software and database information.

Testing and troubleshooting

According to the 16-count indictment, “Venkata and others also assisted Edwards by reconfiguring his laptop so that he could properly upload the stolen software and databases, provided troubleshooting support whenever Edwards required it.” They were even nice enough to help “him build a testing server at his residence with the stolen software and databases, which contained PII.” One would assume the affected employees will now be provided with credit monitoring services.

The new and improved system also apparently leaked to a foreign government. “As further part of the alleged scheme, Edwards retained software developers in India for the purpose of developing his commercial alternative of DHS-OIG’s software.”

The indictment was announced by Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. He had help from Trump’s DHS IG, General Joseph V. Cuffari and Inspector General Tammy L. Whitcomb with the U.S. Postal Service.

The pair are charged with, “with conspiracy to commit theft of government property and to defraud the United States, theft of government property, wire fraud, and aggravated identity theft.” Venkata also gets charged with records destruction.

    I have said it many times before If you are a person of questionable back ground like Obama you can only have the same kind of people working for you Because good citizens will not work for crooks and the entire Obama administration were crooks I things turn out right they will all be locked up That includes the head crook Barry and his band of thieves liars and cheats

    Your right … this is why they hate president trump so much . He’s cutting their money making scams . I hope they take Obama down with them . It’s so funny how they all cry trump did this , or he did that .but they never have any proof and then we find out their the ones doing the dirty deeds . I find the louder you cry … the more you have to hide . Just like most of the delusional democrats we have now . They have things to hide .

    Our government should be proud because the training that these men received was at our expense. Not every FBI agent or employee is a reprobate, but they have had too many swine at the top of the swill.

    I was, and still am, a victim of the FBI and a local police department. The FBI allows law enforcement (?) officers in fifteen States to access to the FBI Criminal database without oversight. Many of the bad law enforcement officers have been using the database as a form of income for fun and profit. These officers are allowed to create criminal records, alter criminal records, and, in some cases to delete files for a fee.

    My ex-wife had been dating at least one Fillmore County, Minnesota Deputy. There were probably two and possible three officers enjoying her favors. One of them created an arrest record (felony domestic abuse) in my name and I lost my Census position because I had not advised the Census of my criminal record. It was a surprise to me and I was able to get some information from an FBI agent, who explained income sources enjoyed by some officers.

    The only thing that I was able to do, through the Veteran’s Administration, was to reduce my felony to a gross misdemeanor, but I now have to include it in the last paragraph of my resume.

    I with that the law applied to law enforcement officers.
